The 10th SFCCA Youth Sports Festival opening ceremony was held at SuperBowl Toa Payoh @Safra on August 20 (Saturday). Mr. Alvin Tan, Minister of State, Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth, and Ministry of Trade and Industry, officiated the opening of the Sports Festival as the Guest-Of-Honour. Bowling is the first competition of the festival. The event received overwhelming response and was attended by 130 participants from 20 Clans.

 

 

 

 

Mr. Alvin Tan Sheng Hui, Minister of Culture, Community, Youth, and State for Trade and Industry, kicking off the 10th SFCCA Youth Sports Festival.

The SFCCA Youth Sports Festival was launched in 2013 to promote active living in Singapore whilst enhancing the communication and forging friendships among the youths from various communities. This promotes the holistic development of the youth in the community and strengthens the cooperation among SFCCA member associations. This year, the SFCCA Sports Festival is jointly organized by Singapore Chin Kang Huay Kuan, Foo Clan Association, Singapore Hainan Hwee Kuan, and Singapore Jiangsu Association, and co-organized by Singapore Kwangtung Hui Kuan and Singapore Ann Kway Association. The event is also supported by the National Integration Council.

In his speech, Mr. Zhou Zhao Chen, the chairman of the SFCCA Youth Committee mentioned that the “SFCCA Youth Festival is not only an event that promotes bonding among the youths but also a platform to promote social harmony.”

He also emphasized that youths are the backbone of the nation, and their physical and emotional well-being are salient. Hence, SFCCA will continue to extend the reach of the Youth Festival in the future and encourage the youth to stay active and develop a healthier society.

 

Mr. Zhou Zhao Chen, the chairman of the SFCCA Youth Committee, delivered his speech at the 10th SFCCA Youth Sports Festival.

 

Participants did their very best and had a whale of a time during the competition.

The champion, first and second runner up of the bowling competition are Eng Choon Hway Kuan, Ching Kang Huay Kuan, and Kwangtung Hui Kuan.

Singapore national bowler Ms Shanya Ng was invited to share and demonstrate her bowling skills.
