Organised by Singapore Federation of Chinese Clan Associations, the “National Cohesion, Resilience and Social Development” Dialogue Session was held on 6 July, 7.30pm at the SFCCA Multi-Purpose Hall @ Level 1 with Former Senior Minister Mr Tharman Shanmugaratnam as the guest speaker. Over 100 participants attended the session, among whom were representatives from 38 clan associations. Interpreters were also present to provide simultaneous interpretation that evening to ensure information were accurate.

Before the dialogue session begins, President of SFCCA Mr Thomas Chua delivers his speech and said, “Having to live in a multi-racial and cultural society, each racial and religious groups have their own values and traditions. Hence, the first step to building social cohesion is the to show inclusiveness by understanding one another. Understanding leads to familiarity, which fosters trust, and in turn, nurtures greater acceptance.
