The ongoing spread of COVID-19 has adversely affected the world, and Singapore is no exception. In these challenging times, all of us in Singapore should exercise social responsibility on top of staying united as one and supporting one another.

On 14th March 2020, together with Senior Parliamentary Secretary, Ministry of Transport & Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth Mr Baey Yam Keng and 40 volunteers from other organisations, members of Singapore Federation of Chinese Clan Associations (SFCCA)’s Youth Committee and Integration Advocates distributed “care packs” to taxi drivers at Changi Airport, cheering them on as the nation continues to combat COVID-19.

During Mr Baey Yam Keng’s sharing, he mentioned that just like the healthcare workers, transport workers and cleaners are also frontline heroes. They work hard to ensure our safety and prevent the transmission of the virus, thus allowing life to go on as normal for everyone. Mr Baey was happy to join the volunteers in the distribution of the “care packs” to the taxi drivers as a form of appreciation for their effort in keeping Singapore safe.

SFCCA’s Youth Committee Vice-Chairman Chan Jin Hong said that the “care pack” distribution this time round is to thank the taxi drivers who are still working amid the ongoing coronavirus situation. The “care packs” were donated by generous members of the public, companies and SFCCA’s member associations, with hopes of bringing them some warmth and cheer.
