Traversing Chinese Cultures
The mobile application 宗乡汇典 is designed and developed to improve communications between Singapore Federation of Chinese Clan Associations (SFCCA) and its members, as well as to preserve Chinese Cultures.
The objective of this project is to reach out to a larger group of users, mainly youths, through the application of modern technology. With the evolution of technology and social media, SFCCA has put up an initiative to develop this application to engage the youths and strengthen communication with clan associations. The project seeks to allow users to access precious cultural resources that will let them connect with the Singapore Chinese history.
Immersing Users in Chinese Cultural Experiences
There are 3 key objectives for the application: Preserving Chinese Cultures, Enhancing Connectivity and Building New Connections. The application works to provide features that will connect users and associations closely while providing media content for their reading pleasure.
The long-term preservation of all precious cultural content produced by associations is ensured because of the project’s digitization efforts, where the content is archived for future access. Users can enjoy seamless reading experiences and download any publications and read them anytime and anywhere.
Users can share what they like on their social networking platforms right within the application, so that a greater range of audience members can learn about the SFCCA and the application, reaching out to the tech-savvy generation. This will grow the community and build new connections while promoting and preserving Chinese cultures with every download and share.
The application will be available on both Apple App Store and Google Play Store. For more information, please visit www.smartmediasoft.com.sg/immp.
