Singapore, 28 September 2025 – Singapore Federation of Chinese Clan Associations(“SFCCA”) brought its flagship event, Singapore, Our Homeland (“SGOH”), to One Punggol Celebration Square today, drawing around 1500 members of the public to join in the festivities. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade and Industry, Mr Gan Kim Yong, officiated the event as Guest of Honour, together with Members of Parliament for Punggol GRC.

Now in its third edition, SGOH went beyond SFCCA’s Toa Payoh headquarters for the first time, bringing the event into the heartlands. It was also first presented in a carnival format, creating opportunities for Punggol residents to engage more closely with the programme. Held in conjunction with SG60 and SFCCA’s 40th Anniversary, the event adopted the themed “Harness Community Spirit, Unite in Action, Build a New Chapter Together” (abbreviated as HUB, Mandarin: 和衷共济·同行绘新). The theme reflects SFCCA’s vision of preserving heritage while embracing innovation, and fostering unity through community partnerships. The carnival also marked a highlight of One Punggol’s first anniversary celebrations, offering residents a meaningful experience that embodied Singapore’s multicultural harmony and community cohesion.

A key highlight of the carnival was the original short skit “Singapore, Our Homeland”, which used light-hearted humour to trace Singapore’s 60 years of nation building while spotlighting SFCCA’s four decades of contributions to heritage preservation, community bonding, and social cohesion. Performed by actors Marcus Chin, Qiu Shengyang, and Kelvin Soon, the skit delighted audiences with laughter and heartfelt applause.

Beyond stage performances, mini-exhibitions and interactive booths by various clan and cultural bodies showcased traditional crafts, folk arts, and clan heritage. Visitors not only admired the displays, but also experienced the vibrancy of local clan traditions firsthand. Deputy Prime Minister Gan, and the Punggol GRC MPs toured the booths, engaging warmly with residents and fostered a strong sense of community spirit.

Supported by National Integration Council, Singapore Clan Foundation and Cultural Matching Fund, Singapore, Our Homeland seeks to invoke Singaporeans’ collective memory, strengthen pride in our national identity, pay tribute to the past, and envision the future together.
