Organised by Singapore Federation of Chinese Clan Associations, the large-scale social event “Happy兔gether: 当我们同在一起” was held in SFCCA Multi-Purpose Hall @ Level 1. The event brought 20 single men and women aged 20-35 together, with one couple successfully matched.
The event began with self-introduction videos from all the 20 single participants. Each of them then bravely shared their motivations in taking the first step to end their singlehood through a “declaration of friendship”. In order to break the ice and get to know each other, participants split into different groups according to their gender and played games such as “Who’s the Undercover?”.
Each participant was also given an opportunity to write a heartfelt message to the person they were interested in. The message would be collected and delivered by the “Love Postman” to the intended recipients. To make things more exciting, participants also voted amongst themselves to determine the most popular male and female participant. Some of the participants also performed and impressed others with their multitude of talents, adding on to the lively atmosphere.
Approximately 80 members of the public attended the event to show their support. SFCCA hopes to use its reach to encourage young people to actively participate in gatherings and expand their social circles.
