In preparation for the 2nd “Heartstrings of Singapore” Photography Competition, 150 people participated in the “Capturing the Magic Moment” Workshop

The Singapore Federation of Chinese Clan Associations (SFCCA) held the “Capturing the Magic Moment” photography workshop on Sunday (17th March 2019), attracting 150 photographers to interact with one another. Consultant for the 2nd “Heartstrings of Singapore” Photography Competition, President of Singapore Colour Photographic Association Mr Eric Goh Wee Seng was also invited as the keynote speaker, to share his experience and tips on photography.

The organisers also prepared three shooting scenes for the participants to practise on the spot, which were a person writing Chinese calligraphy, a model with an antique car and the sparkling scene of a worker cutting iron respectively. During the shooting process, the participants also received the guidance of a professional photography teacher, to learn various shooting techniques and shoot different effects for the same scene.

In addition to the outdoor shooting practice, the lecture on photography by Mr Eric Goh also greatly benefited the attendees. Since 1992, Mr Eric Goh has served as President of the Singapore Colour Photographic Association. He is also the consultant, member or mentor of many local and overseas photography groups. With 40 years of photography experience, he presented several award-winning works during the lecture, and explained the shooting techniques involved, which inspired many participants who were preparing to participate in the “Heartstrings of Singapore” photography competition.
