For those who marry abroad, adapting to the new environment and culture of a new country is a great challenge that should be taken seriously.

To aid in their integration into our society and to broaden the public’s understanding of transnational marriages, Singapore Federation of Chinese Clan Associations had specially invited three guest speakers of different origins to share their experiences at the Singapore Hainan Hwee Kuan on 16th August 2015.

In line with the theme “Challenges faced by and support for transnational marriages”, the Deputy Director of Fei Yue Family Service Centre Mr Arthur Ling Koon Hwai shared the plans of Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF) and the various challenges faced by transnational couples. Mdm Angela Ye, a transnational bride, made an appearance to share her experiences. Another guest speaker, Lawyer Peck San Soh explained the legal problems transnational couples often face.
