Singapore, 20 September 2025 — Singapore Federation of Chinese Clan Associations (SFCCA) and National Youth Council signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) today at the Closing Ceremony of the 13th SFCCA Youth Sports Festival, marking a significant milestone in strengthening collaboration for youth development. Mr Baey Yam Keng, Minister of State, Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth & Ministry of Transport officiated the ceremony as Guest of Honour and witnessed the signing alongside SFCCA President Mr Thomas Chua. This also marked Mr Baey’s return to the Youth Sports Festival after three years, lending added significance to the event.

Under the MOU, both parties will work closely to launch more youth-centric initiatives, broaden opportunities for youth participation, and nurture a new generation of leaders to bring dynamism to the community. Dr Zhou Zhaocheng, Chairman of SFCCA’s Youth Committee,
shared that SFCCA hopes to collaborate with partners from various sectors to deliver meaningful and engaging initiatives for young people, inspiring them to take on responsibilities, leverage their strengths, and become a driving force for social progress.

As part of SFCCA’s 40th anniversary celebrations, this year’s Youth Sports Festival closing ceremony was presented for the first time in a carnival format. Highlights included the firstever archery competition and Game Quest challenge, organised in collaboration with Heartware Network, which took the lead in curating and executing the activity. These new features enriched the event and fostered greater youth engagement.

The three-month-long Youth Sports Festival, which kicked off in July, featured a range of sports such as bowling, soccer, and table tennis. The event was organised by SFCCA, Chin Kang Huay Kuan, Foo Clan Association, Singapore Hainan Hwee Kuan and Jiangsu Association, co-organised by Singapore Kwangtung Hui Kuan, Eng Choon Hway Kuan, Singapore Ann Kway Association, and Singapore Lam Ann Association. This event was also supported by the National Integration Council, Singapore Clan Foundation and the Cultural Matching Fund.
