The 4th SFCCA Youth Sports Carnival concluded on 16th October 2016 where a closing ceremony was held at The Chevrons. This year’s sports carnival saw a total of 111 teams from 44 different clan associations participating in 5 sports categories.
The table tennis category cum the opening of the sports carnival held on 9th July 2016 had 28 teams competing for the title. Around 200 attended the event which saw the teams from Foo Clan winning both the Champion and 2nd runner-up. Singapore Kwangtung Hui Kuan obtained 1st runner-up.
The finals of the soccer category were held on 24th July 2016. A total of 10 teams participated, with Republic Polytechnic emerging champions, while Hubei Association and OKOK Pte Ltd took home 1st and 2nd runner-ups respectively. Xiamen Jimei District also engaged in a friendly match with the champions and 1st runner-up teams that day.
The badminton category, held on 21st August 2016, attracted 28 teams – 10 more than last year. Eng Teng Association emerged champions, while Singapore Hainan Hwee Kuan obtained 1st runner-up and Eng Choon Huay Kuan Singapore obtained 2nd runner-up.
2nd October 2016 saw 21 teams fighting for the championship title in the basketball category. Singapore Bukit Panjang Hokkien Konghuay, Singapore Lam Ann Association and Okok Pte Ltd emerged champions, 1st runner-up and 2nd runner-up respectively.
To conclude the 4th SFCCA Youth Sports Carnival, a bowling competition cum closing ceremony was held on 16th October 2016 at The Chevrons. A total of 24 teams participated in the competition. Singapore Institute of Technology, Sam Kiang Huay Kwan and Eng Choon Hway Kuan (Singapore) emerged champions, 1st runner-up and 2nd runner-up respectively.
