To give new immigrants a better knowledge of local culture and to promote interaction between new immigrants and local Singaporeans, Singapore Federation of Chinese Clan Associations’ Social Affairs Community organised “Clan Visit Series” at 1pm on 18th April 2014 which brought immigrants to visit the Central Sikh Temple.
Around 62 people, including representatives from the clan associations and new immigrants, visited the Central Sikh Temple which was built in April 1986 to learn about the culture and practices of the Sikhs.
The guide, Mr Kuldeep, mentioned that the “Five Treasures” of the Sikhs, also known as “5K”, includes Kanga, Kachha, Kara, Kirpan and Kesh.
