The Chinese Scholars and Students Association (CSSA) organised its inaugural Spring Festival Party in 2006. Ever since then, it has become a large-scale event, gathering Chinese students to celebrate the Spring Festival biennially. This year, to encourage further interaction and integration between Chinese students with Singaporeans and permanent residents, and to promote the celebration of traditional festivals, Singapore Federation of Chinese Clan Association (SFCCA) is co-organising the Spring Festival Party alongside the CSSA.
The Celebration, themed “Rhythm of Happiness” was made up of a stream of lovely tunes familiar to Singaporeans and Chinese as well as colourful, vibrant ethnic dances. The performances put up by Hokkien Huay Kuan, Chin Kang Huay Kuan, Eng Teng Association added a multi-cultural twist and local flavour to traditional Chinese performances, reflecting the welcoming-nature of Singapore as a society that embraces cultural diversity.
