New immigrant series seminar on investment held on 24th November 2012 at SFCCA auditorium has attracted more than 140 participants. This seminar had invited speakers from both SPH column writer and also OCBC certified financial planner. OCBC and National Integration Council are the sponsors for this event.
The objective of the seminar is to help new immigrants to be more informed and responsible investors. SFCCA believes that investor education is crucial to equip retail investors with the skills needed to make informed decisions and understanding local Singapore investment market.
The seminar ended with a Q&A session which involved numerous exchanges between the speakers and audience. Some of the interesting questions posted are: risk-return trade-offs and financial analysis process. Through these seminars, SFCCA has successfully to help new immigrants to understand the investment products that are suitable for their needs and if they match their risk appetite so as to empower them to take greater responsibility for their investing decisions.
