Harmony is one of the critical principles guiding the development of a nation. With this topic in reflection, SFCCA (Singapore Federation of Chinese Clan Associations) and REACH (the Singapore Government’s feedback unit that facilitates Whole-of-Government efforts to engage and connect with Singaporeans on national and social issues) jointly organised a REACH Singapore Dialogue at SFCCA’s Multi-Purpose Hall on 18th April 2016, 7:30pm.
The dialogue session provided an avenue for the various parties to voice their thoughts on the employment policies and living environments. Employment opportunites are of a big concern to Singaporeans. Whereas to the enterprises, sufficient supply of foreign labour is of great importance to their thriving businesses. The living challenges and pressures that were brought along by these foreign talents living in Singapore have on the locals were also discussed.
This dialogue session helped the organisers gather information from the residents on their views of the employment policy, which will assist the Government in devising policies that cater to the needs of the nation. The dialogue session were conducted in both English and Mandarin. Minister of State, Prime Minister’s Office & Ministry of Manpower, Mr Sam Tan Chin Siong, attended the event as Guest-of-Honour.
