Singapore Federation of Chinese Clan Associations (SFCCA) launched the Clan of the Year Award in year 2011. The award aims to recognise Chinese clans for their contributions to Chinese culture and also to encourage them to preserve and promote Chinese culture. The 2011 Clan of the Year Award was awarded to 5 different clans and the Special Awards for Excellence was introduced and awarded to 4 different clans for their commendable effort in promoting clan activities.
2012 Clan of the Year Award has attracted 30 clans to participate. Following the same set of guidelines from the previous year, the judging panel has gone through various rounds of assessment to come out with 5 winners for the Clan of the Year Award and 5 winners for the Special Award for Excellence. The awards ceremony was held on the “SFCCA Night” on 15th Feb 2013. The winners received the awards from Senior Parliamentary Secretary for Communications and Information Sim Ann.
Clan of the Year Award 2012 award winners are Kow Loon Club, Soh Clan Association, Singapore Liu Kwee Tang, Singapore Chin Kang Huay Kuan and Singapore Hokkien Huay Kuan.
Special Awards for Excellence 2012 award winners are Lui Chiu Hoe Kuan, Singapore Kwangtung Hui Kuan, Singapore Leong Khay Huay Kuan, Singapore Hui Ann Association and Char Yong (Dabu) Association.
