SFCCA 24th Annual General Meeting

“新加坡是一个多元种族的社会,种族和谐是新加坡长期稳定发展的根本利益。建设和保持种族和谐是我们每个人、每个团体的责任。这是一项不容停息的长期工作。”—黄祖耀主席(右五)主持第24届会员大会致词时如是表示 第24届常年会员大会于10月11日在宗乡总会礼堂举行,获得超过150位来自75间会员团体和代表出席。 大会于当天上午11时30分开始,总会主席黄祖耀致辞时指出,根据最近公布的数据,我国人口已达到近500万,比起9年前增加了100万人,其中大部分都是新移民。政府也在9月份宣布了一系列措施,并设立了一千万元“社会融合基金”,协助新移民顺利融入社会。宗乡总会和各会馆有责任和义务帮助新移民生活在一个被接纳的环境,大家一起生活,互相信任,和谐共处,共同发展。主席也强调,宗乡会馆应多举办一些活动,以联系不同族群,缔造一个和谐的社会。 大会复准了第二十三届常年会员大会会议记录。而关于前期会员大会提出的宗乡总会的理事选举方法,林方华秘书长表示,经过总会理事的讨论,决定不改变现在的理事选举方法,唯现场提名时,须由一间会馆提议,两间不同的会馆附议。 会上,会员代表就本地中英文报对外来移民的负面报道、保留传统湿巴刹、会馆纠纷和引进年轻人及女性加入会馆等课题,提出看法和意见,并赞扬总会在这一年来为加强各会馆凝聚力所做的努力。中山会馆李广根询问总会是否有意接办“东南亚加四各姓氏宗亲首长联谊大会”,对此,主席和秘书长皆表示,如果大会提出要求,总会在条件允许下会加以考虑。

Chua Thian Poh Appointed As SFCCA President

福建会馆会长蔡天宝被推举为宗乡总会新任主席 新加坡宗乡会馆联合总会于7月30日下午3点30分,在大巴窑二巷会所召开理事会议,15位理事全数出席,并一致通过推举福建会馆会长蔡天宝为总会第二任主席,即日生效。 宗乡总会是在7月12日收到福建会馆来信,通知随着前任福建会馆会长黄祖耀卸任,福建会馆在总会理事会及宗乡基金的代表,由新任会长蔡天宝接替。 在会议中,何侨生副主席提议推举蔡天宝出任主席,获得会上众理事的支持,全体理事举手赞成一致通过。何侨生表示,蔡天宝德高望重,是理事会的不二人选。 新任主席蔡天宝接受媒体访问时,感激全体理事的拥戴,并表示这是他第一次进入宗乡总会,需要先观察一阵子,了解华社的需要,再制定下来的发展策略。他也希望接下来总会能配合社会的变迁,与新移民组织进行沟通与合作,甚至邀请这些团体加入总会。他也借此呼吁,希望宗乡会馆能够与总会进一步凝聚在一起,通过群策群力,为华社和社会的发展作出贡献。 总会自1986年创立以来,黄祖耀先生即担任宗乡总会主席,至今长达25年,功不可没。因此,理事会也一致通过,委任黄祖耀先生为总会首任名誉主席。 会上也宣布宗乡总会第25届常年会员大会将在10月3日(星期天)召开,详情将在之后通知。
