DESCRIPTION:\nNational Service (NS) was introduced in Singapore in 1967. As part of their national duty and also a rite of passage, all Singaporean and second-generation Permanent Resident males must fulfil their NS responsibilities.\nTo help everyone better understand NS, SFCCA is organising the New Immigrants and Singapore Society Experiential Series – “National Service: What You Need to Know” Online Sharing Session, with invited speakers from the Advisory Council on Community Relations in Defence (ACCORD) to share more about the pre-enlistment process, as well as an NSman and the mother of an NSman to share their perspectives.\nThe sharing session includes:\n– Pre-enlistment process\n– Personal sharing of NS journey by an NSman\n– Personal sharing from a parent’s perspective by the mother of an NSman\nIf you have any questions about NS, please feel free to ask during the Q&A session and we will answer them as best as we can!\nAdmission to the sharing session is free.
